Sometimes there aren’t enough plots for everyone that wants one. When this happens plot holders may agree to share their plot. Many gardeners unofficially share their plot with friends and family.
Plot holders of record may agree to share a defined area of their plot. A person who shares space in a plot holder’s garden is recognized as a member of the Greenbelt Garden Club only if they submit an application, supported by the plot holder, to the membership coordinator. Persons who share without submitting an application are not members of the GCGC and have no claim to the plot they have been sharing if it becomes available.
- There is a probationary period of 1-3 months for new gardeners of the shared plot. In all cases it is up to the official plot holder to decide if a sharing arrangement is working. If not, they have the right to terminate the arrangement at any time.
- Sharing arrangements may be renewed annually.
