APPLICATION PROCESS

Garden plots are assigned and renewed at the GCGC annual spring meeting held in February or March. 

Applications and payment may be sent online. Payment is only required for returning and first time gardeners/plot holders; not for new applicants . Returning plot holders who pay by check or cash, please remit the fee to your garden coordinator.

Plots are allocated on a first-come, first serve basis and cannot be reserved. They are non-transferable.  Please note, you must be a Greenbelt resident to apply for or hold a plot. All new applications will be reviewed by the membership coordinator. Please review our rules for more detailed information. 

New Applicants

Applicants will be notified within 72 hours to acknowledge receipt of your application.  If there are garden plots available, a representative will contact you to schedule a meeting to view the available plot(s).  If there are no available plots your name will be placed on the wait list until space becomes available. 

Returning and First Time Plot Holders Annual Renewal Application 

Returning Plot Holders, and new First Time Plot Holders must complete an annual application and pay plot dues to retain their plot. If you are a current member and cannot attend the annual meeting, contact your garden coordinator to make arrangements in advance of the meeting to pay fees and complete annual renewal paperwork. All plot holder applications and payment are due 30 days after the annual meeting. Contact and your garden coordinator with questions, and to arrange payment if needed. After the 30-day period you will lose your plot and be assigned to the wait list.

Request for Plot Change

If you are a current member and wish to move to a different plot, submit a request for plot change application and let your garden coordinator know as soon as possible. Your application will be processed separately from the waiting list.
